M G University Youth Festival - FISAT won Second Runner Up Trophy

The Mahatma Gandhi University youth festival ‘Varnam2011′ that concluded in Kochi, witnessed scintillating performances on stage by the youngsters of FISAT. It is for the first time that a professional college won a prestigious position in University Youth festival, usually dominated by arts and science colleges.
T. Vidya earned her place in this edition of the festival by winning the first position in Kavyakeli, Malayalam recitation and Aksharaslokam competitions. Sharanya Sasidharan has bagged 1st prizes in Mohoniyaatam and Kuchupudi and 2nd prize in Bharathanatyam. Sruthi Devidas won the 1st position in the prestigious ‘Kathakali’ competition. Other prizes are: Mr. K Govind won 2nd position in Percussion (Chenda) and Mr. Venkitesh won 2nd prize in classical solo. Ms. Reni Mathew won 3rd position in flute and Mr. Roshan K Philip won third position in percussion (western) Mr. Nelvin Joseph won A Grade in Light Music (Male), Ms. U R Anuja won A Grade in Bharatanaatyam and Ms. M Parvathy won A Grade in Folk Dance.
Altogether Fisatians won laurels to their college and bagged 41 point to become the 2nd Runner up in the youth festival. Well it is only a beginning .......
